What exactly is Luke’s Place?

Luke's Place is a non-profit, professional social service agency serving Durham Region. It offers support and information to women exiting or preparing to exit an abusive relationship, focusing on their family law process. Luke's Place is not a shelter or crisis support service. All services are available by appointment only.

Do I have to pay for anything?

No, all services are free of charge and also, absolutely confidential.

Does Luke’s Place have any childcare services available?

Childcare services are available on a limited basis with advance arrangements .

What is the mandate of Luke’s Place?

Our three main goals are; providing short or long term support to woman abuse survivors and their children who are entering into or involved in the separation process, referrals to community services, and community education and collaboration.

What are your hours of operation?

Monday to Friday, 9 am to 4:30 pm. Evening appointments are available.

How can I make an appointment? Do I need a referral?

Luke's Place welcomes self-referrals as well as referrals from other agencies. To book an appointment, please call our intake coordinator at 905.728.0978 ext 226.
